Carl Contrera unearthed this from YouTube and posted it on Facebook this week. I hadn't heard it since I could count my age in single digits. Those of you who are parallel to me in life would remember it as the tune they'd play to introduce Chuck McCann when he'd dress up as Chester Gould's long arm of the law to read the funnies in the Sunday News.
Now if somebody could pretty please find the "Little Orphan Annie" song he used, I'd be grateful.
