L&M GOT KICKED OUT FOR SMOKING

Van Nostrand Reinhold had a wonderful graphic arts library, with such entries as Lettering Art in Modern Use, one of many books by Raymond A. Ballinger. "Modern" would have to be modern for 1956, when this second edition saw print. That even predates the debut of Post Alpha-Bits by two years.


Most of the alphabets that the author harvests are from an earlier century, though.


Here is a large letter "R" that you can blow up and cut out and hang on your wall, if your name is Rary Tyler Roore. Or you can say, "Look! My baby wrote me a letter!" and produce this and say, "My baby only knows one letter."
